Come learn about the international community of women in Second Life from Saturday November 21 to Sunday November 22 at the "Virtual Praxis" conference, sponsored by Ohio State University's Women's Department.
The two day gathering brings together women activists, educators, researchers, and artists to meet on such topics as "cyborg feminism," action against gender violence, and women with disabilities. Several nonprofits active in Second Life will be presenting, including Uthango Social Investments from South Africa, Gimp Girl, and Transitions: A Place for Dreams, which helps displaced people and refugees. My colleague Rhiannon Chatnoir will be presenting, along with others, at the Transitions session.
Head to the conference website for more info and the Minerva sim (click here to teleport) to participate!
