
We just heard the news that ten winners have been selected for the 2010 Digital Media and Learning Competition! Sponsored by the MacArthur Foundation and HASTAC, this year's competition drew more than 800 applications from 32 countries. The ten recipients of grants were announced today on the MacArthur website.
The winners include several projects that focus on digital games and virtual worlds, including:
- Click! The Online Spy School: Emily Sturman, Carnegie Science Center, Pittsburgh, PA (web-based, augmented reality game)
- Nox No More: Rosanna Garcia, Northeastern University, Boston, MA (online game using real time GPS-data)
- Conservation Connection: from the Westside to the Pacific: Joshua Drew, The Field Museum, Chicago, IL (online tween-focused virtual world)
- and Scratch and Share: Mitchel Resnick, MIT Media Lab, Cambridge, MA (online game creation platform)
